Frequently Asked Questions
You've got questions about pregnancy and pediatric chiropractic and we've got answers.
What are some of the benefits of prenatal chiropractic care?
There are numerous potential benefits of receiving chiropractic care during pregnancy. These include:
Alleviation of Pregnancy Discomforts: Pregnancy often leads to changes in posture and a shift in your center of gravity which can result in discomfort and pain in the back, neck, hips, and joints. Chiropractic care can help alleviate these discomforts by helping to maintain a healthier posture and balance.
Nausea Control: Chiropractic care can sometimes help reduce symptoms of nausea, also known as morning sickness, which is common during pregnancy.
Easier Labor and Delivery: Regular chiropractic care can help align the pelvis properly, potentially leading to a smoother labor and delivery process. The Webster technique, specifically, can help to balance the pelvis, reducing the chances of needing a C-section.
Healthier Pregnancy: By aligning the spine and improving nerve system function, chiropractic care can help your body to function more effectively, which can contribute to an overall healthier pregnancy.
Reduced Labor Time: Some studies suggest that regular chiropractic care during pregnancy can lead to shorter and less painful labor times.
Relief from Sciatica: Pregnancy can put added pressure on the sciatic nerve. Chiropractic adjustments can help alleviate the resulting pain that radiates from the lower back down the legs.
Postpartum Recovery: After delivery, your body goes through further changes as it returns to its non-pregnant state. Postnatal chiropractic care can help this transition, reducing discomfort and aiding recovery.
What is the Webster Technique?
The Webster Technique is a specific chiropractic adjustment used to restore balance in the pelvis. This technique is often used during pregnancy, as it can help relieve pain and improve pregnancy outcomes. The Webster Technique has been shown to be effective in reducing interference to the nervous system, which is important for both the mother and baby's health during pregnancy.
Dr. Danielle has received additional training and is a Webster-Certified Chiropractor through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA).
When should you start seeing a chiropractor during pregnancy?
You can start seeing a chiropractor at any point during pregnancy, but many women find it helpful to start early on in during the first trimester of pregnancy. As your pregnancy progresses and your body begins to change, regular visits to the chiropractor can help improve overall health and wellness and make room for your developing baby! This can help manage common pregnancy discomforts and prepare the pelvis for the birth process.
Can Chiropractic Care Help In Postpartum After Birth?
Yes, a chiropractor can help you recover from the physical stress of pregnancy and birth. It's very common for new moms to experience neck and back tightness and pain from picking baby up and feeding in awkward positions multiple times per day. Chiropractic care can also help with common postpartum issues like breastfeeding difficulties, postpartum depression and anxiety and promoting greater health and wellness throughout the body.
At what age can my baby go to the chiropractor?
It is recommended for new babies to be checked by a chiropractor as early as a few days after birth. A pediatric chiropractor can assess your baby for any misalignments in their spine and nervous system that may have occurred during the birthing process, and provide gentle adjustments if needed.
Many parents bring in their children as young as newborns to have their nervous systems checked in order to prevent future health issues. Other benefits for babies include feeding help if they have trouble latching, increasing their immunity, improving colic and digestive issues, and reducing crankiness.
What are the top benefits of pediatric chiropractic care?
Supporting Healthy Development: Regular chiropractic adjustments can help maintain proper alignment of your child's spine, which is crucial for their overall health and wellbeing. These adjustments play a significant role in supporting the optimal functioning of the nervous system, thereby facilitating physical and cognitive development.
Easing Common Childhood Conditions: Conditions like colic, bedwetting, ear infections, and asthma often result from nervous system disturbances. While chiropractic care doesn't directly "cure" these conditions, it aids in improving nerve function and overall health, alleviating the severity and frequency of these issues.
Promoting Better Digestion and Sleep: Improved nerve function through chiropractic adjustments can shift a stressed nervous system from “fight or flight” to “rest and digest.” This allows for better digestion (and pooping!) and relaxation for more restful sleep.
Boosting Immune System: The nervous system and immune system are intricately connected. By enhancing the function of the nervous system through chiropractic care, your child's immune system can also be strengthened, helping them better combat common infections and illnesses.
Enhancing Behavior and Attitude: Reducing spinal nerve stress through chiropractic care can potentially lead to improvements in a child's behavior and attitude. It can also boost their brain's ability to concentrate and focus.
Aiding in Injury Prevention and Healing: For active children, proper nervous system function via regular chiropractic care can ensure their musculoskeletal system is in peak condition. This not only helps in reducing the risk of injuries but also aids in faster recovery if injuries do occur.
What conditions can pediatric chiropractic care help with?
Pediatric chiropractic care can help with a variety of issues, including constipation, tongue-tie related symptoms, headaches, ear infections, bedwetting, anxiety, depression, ADHD and Autism spectrum disorders.

Our initial visit which includes a health history consultation, exam and first adjustment if it’s appropriate to do so costs $185. Follow up visits are $70. Please allocate 45 minutes for your first appointment and 15 minutes for follow up appointments.
Will I be better after 1 visit?
You will most likely feel better after your first visit, but the process is not always linear. Be patient!
